I am a professional writer with approximately 8 years of experience, writing and editing various content; such as scientific journalism, sports, interviews, and creative non-fiction. My background in Psychology, Professional Writing, and Communication has provided me with unique opportunities that combine my curiosity for wellness with my passion for teaching and storytelling, which I am confident makes me a great asset to the Geolance team. My experiences have allowed me to develop the following skills: - Researching appropriate and relevant content for local readers, which involved daily perusal of science news releases, followed by retrieving and reading full published studies. - Writing and editing unique creative non-fiction short stories, powerful long-form essays, and compelling health and scientific journalistic style articles - Managing and mentoring a team of writers in transforming dense and complicated scientific studies into engaging, informative, and succinct newspaper articles. - Developing relationships with associate writers, and members of the health and athletic communities (i.e. athletes, coaches, health specialists, etc. ) - Collaborating with fellow writers and editors in the development of content for creative non-fiction short-stories, as well as various other sections including Arts and Features. - Learning and improving my creative writing repertoire through feedback from my peers, and engaging in networked events with local senior journalists. I am passionate about learning, storytelling, creativity, and educating others.
