This included the strategic positioning, venue and vendor/sponsor support and financial P&L. In today’s marketplace, lead gen is king. I have worked across North America, specifically in NYC, Denver, San Francisco, Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa and other Canadian centres. Business plans include the development of multi-city P&L and working with and directing a sales team. Very comfortable working cross-department and managing expectations up and down. Supplier, venue, and hotel contract negotiation is a well-honed skill that I enjoy, having done over 300 in my career. In fact, SUPERB negotiator and communicator are my hallmarks of success. Post event analysis and review is critical to success. I don’t have an events certificate; however, I created the curriculum for four graduate programs and taught Large Event Management for four years at George Brown College. The largest event I totally managed has 26,000 B2B delegates and over 600 booths and over 125 seminars. I have managed a team of 7 direct reports including sales, event coordination and management and will also be happy to be a team player reporting to the Lead person. CRM with GoldMine, Salesforce and Office Accelerator are in my experience. No detail is too small in the planning and delivery of an event. If every detail is ‘nailed down’ pre-event, this permits the time and attention to focus on the unexpected. “Grace under Pressure” for rapid problem solving. This includes all the events produced by IT World Canada for two years, Toronto Academy of Dentistry Winter Clinic, Photography, Multimedia, Open Source with Real World Linux, and Linux World, IT360, Environmental Leader, Solar Expo, O’Cannabiz and TechGov in Ottawa this year. On the corporate side, this includes IBM, Adobe, Apple, Nature’s Path Foods, Green Management Group and more.
