I am currently an LLM student at Osgoode Hall Law School and it is with great interest that I am applying for the student-at-law position at the Geolance. The firm's demonstrated commitment to its student program, global reach, and opportunities to engage early on in challenging work, offer an ideal environment to establish and develop my legal career and I can integrate well with my valuable international background. After completing senior high school, I obtained admission in B.A. LLB (H) program at Amity University, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. Along with the above course, I also completed a Chinese language course gaining a working knowledge of the language, and the Study Abroad Program from Amity University, London, the UK in International Management and Business Law. My academic performance has been satisfactory throughout this journey, I received an on-merit scholarship consecutively for achieving the highest marks in my batch. I am also enrolled and licensed to practice law in all courts of India. After graduating, I started working at United Lex as a Legal Associate, in the Corporate and Commercial Department from March 2021 to June 2022. I was given the responsibility of supporting the company's international customers and internal teams with all aspects of Contract Lifecycle Management. This includes contract review, metadata abstraction, and obligation extraction. I have directly collaborated with international clients, and provided them with legal advice and assistance on issues related to contracts, guidance, design, and prompt innovative solutions, combining legal ability with business pragmatism. I have acquired a lot of skills here that have helped me become a better professional including first-hand experience in business management, drafting legal documents, effectively managing time, excelling in leadership roles, and most importantly, developing my corporate law concepts. As a result, I was consecutively recognized as a top performer delivering 100% quality work. My experience here has been complimented by my ongoing work as a remote legal intern at Vivus Pets Inc., a start-up based in Vancouver, BC, where I primarily research, draft, and edit legal documents. Together, these employment experiences have allowed me to explore my interest in corporate law in both a practical and academic context, while simultaneously improving my research and communication skills. Additionally, my internships & professional experience not only helped in shaping my undergraduate experiences, but also enabled me to develop as a student, advocate, teammate, & leader, which is evident from my near-perfect GPA in academics. With this, I have been able to develop a set of personal, academic, & professional goals. Therefore, I decided to take a significant leap toward studying the in-depth concepts of International Business Law at York University (2022-2023), where I can drive meaningful growth and change by adding a Master’s degree to my professional qualification. Simultaneously, I am also preparing to be NCA certified. Since coming to Canada, I have developed the skills and knowledge to become a successful articling student at Geolance. I have been perfecting my English skills, furthering my education, and learning about Canadian culture and society. I am currently working toward an LLM in International Business Law at Osgoode Hall Law School. With my prior experience, I would be an ideal candidate to work here and bring great value to your firm, I am very well prepared to work with clients from Canada whether they are individuals or corporations.
