Chantel M. - 15008 Scientific Writer from Hamilton

Dear Hiring Manager, I am applying for the position of Scientific Writer. I am a recent graduate from McMaster University with an Honours Life Sciences (B.Sc.) degree. I graduated with an average of 95.42% in my final two years. I have taken many courses throughout my undergrad that have required me to perform research and literature searches. Additionally, I have taken several nutrition and cellular biology courses that examine the effects of vitamins and nutrients at a cellular level. I have an understanding of the different pathways that nutrients can take and the different environments that increase or inhibit absorption. I am very organized and methodical, so performing literature searches and reviews are tasks that I excel at. I have experience in using Microsoft Office and I am proficient in using Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. I have written several research articles and literature reviews during my undergrad, and I have experience in translating scientific jargon for a lay audience. In my current job as a caretaker at the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board, I am responsible for disinfection in addition to maintaining building security and day-to-day operation. I work without supervision and take initiative to go above and beyond my regular duties. I enjoy learning so I have taken every opportunity for training. I am looking for a fulfilling career with room to learn and grow. I have police clearance and my own reliable transportation.
