Ashley E. - 14574 Public Affairs Officer from Ottawa

As noted on my resume, my career development has been in the areas of project communications, legislative affairs and project management. This past year, I completed an acting role as the Strategist, Infrastructure Projects position in Infrastructure Services. A key component of this role is to provide strategic advice, liaison and position Infrastructure Services within the corporate framework and overarching project support for the service area. I lead a team whose focus is to provide support and advice to our management team on the delivery of infrastructure projects. The leadership skills gained through this experience will undoubtably be an asset to this position. Currently, I am a Strategic Programs and Project Officer with the Infrastructure and Water Services Department. In this role I have enhanced my effective communication skills, both written and oral, as well as strong research and analytical skills. As part of this position, I work collaboratively with management and project managers, managers and directors to enhance communication practices. I also contribute to the development of new processes to enhance service delivery and provide direct support and strategic advisement to the General Manager of the department, whereby drafting key correspondence, reports, memos and other key communication products on behalf of the General Manager. Through this position as well as my previous positions at the City of Ottawa, I have established positive relationships across the organization, including departmental leadership teams, senior leaders, city councilors and departmental staff. On a more personal note, I enjoy new challenges and acquiring new skills. I am a highly motivated individual and take pride in supporting and enhancing processes for the betterment of the organization. I am now at a moment in my career where I want to gain more experience, lead more projects and initiatives, and provide mentorship to others. I am certain this position will provide me with the challenges I am looking for.
