Abdo A. - 15563 Business Intelligence Analyst from Calgary

I had the opportunity of working as a Canada Gas Operations Business Analyst Student at TC Energy. This opportunity allowed me to identify and solve problems using data, as well as extensively communicate within a complex team environment that included Engineering and Business teams among others. Additionally, I have been able to work on in-class data science projects to help me develop my skills in R, Python and SQL. A notable project I partook in was substantial research project in the field of Data Science that consist of all the elements in the data cycle including collection, cleaning, exploratory analysis, statistical and computational analysis, and presentation. In this project, I leveraged R to scrape data from the internet to try to figure out if crowds had an impact on NBA player performance, which I then made a R shiny web app/dashboard to communicate my findings. Furthermore, I have also worked on an academic project where I built machine learning/ predictive models using the Scikit Learn and Pandas library in Python to help predict cases of stroke in a person, using models such as logistic regression and k-nearest neighbors, and made visualizations using Tableau to communicate findings. These projects have given me experience in preparing data for Data Science and Machine Learning, as well as conducting deep statistical analysis to gain insights from data.
