Connor M. - 16077 Health Information Management Consultant from Hamilton

About

Geolance, Health Information Management Consultant Hiring Team, I am writing to apply for the position of Health Information Management Consultant with Geolance. I am a statistician turned public health intelligence analyst with a strong numerical and analytical background combined with impressive communication and interpersonal skills. I am someone who consistently delivers high-quality analytical projects, while also being someone that has been frequently lauded for my people skills and relationship management capabilities. I hope to showcase my abilities as a hardworking, engaging, and detail-oriented individual, while getting the opportunity to collaborate with passionate colleagues and clients who inspire and host possibility. Additionally, using health data to help solve problems and having the opportunity to consult with healthcare staff to help educate and improve processes, while also having the ability to learn and develop within a fast growing organisation like Geolance, truly speaks to me and what I hope to be a part of. As a statistician in the Pragmatic Clinical Trials Unit at Queen Mary University of London, I was not only responsible for data cleaning and analysis of clinical trials and other observational studies but I also led problem-based learning courses at the university, liaised with external project stakeholders, and wrote protocols, statistical analysis plans, and papers. On one of the studies I worked on, a predictive modelling study looking at identifying women who may benefit from surgery to treat endometriosis, I developed and validated numerous clinical prediction models and produced decision curves, to highlight the real-world utility of each model. As a result of my keen knowledge of the data and analyses, my strong writing and communication skills, and the close relationships I fostered with the Chief Investigator and our patient and public involvement group I was asked, ahead of the senior statistician on the project, to be the first author on the academic paper for this study; which I am currently writing in my spare time with the team, where we are targeting a top 5% journal globally. I have consistently gone above and beyond in my academic and professional pursuits and can reliably manage tasks and people while producing high-quality work, on time, with a keen attention to detail. During my MSc Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where I graduated with Merit, I used socioeconomic, environmental resource use, and human health and development metrics to create a novel dataset spanning 26 years for over 190 countries as part of my dissertation project. I maintained a strong relationship with my supervisors and have since continued to work with them as first author, in my spare time, to expand the research into an academic journal submission, which is currently under review by the Lancet Planetary Health, a top 1% journal globally. At my current role, I use my considerable background in epidemiology and analysis combined with my strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide public health intelligence, performance management, analytics support, and strategic reporting for a range of projects within Camden and Islington Councils and in partnership with National Health Service organisations. I am responsible for collating, analysing, and presenting data on health, housing and adult social care, service performance, and more. My role also includes working on health equity audits, contributing to joint strategic needs assessments, evaluating local health and care services, and relationship management with various members of our public health team and external stakeholders. I work closely with a range of stakeholders including: members of Local Authorities, Clinical Commissioning Groups, the Commissioning Support Unit, NHS executives, and various organisations in the local health economy. I am confident that my unique skillset, complemented by my deep passion, strong work ethic, and keen abilities to build and maintain relationships will allow me to be an enthusiastic, hardworking, and unique contributor as a Health Information Management Consultant with Geolance. Sincerely, Connor Mustard
