Formal Education: As a part of my Master of Finance, through project-based learning in my Fixed Income, Corporate Finance and Investment Banking coursework, I developed a skill set to create many stand-alone financial analyses using industry and credit-rating specific (S&P, Moody’s & Fitch) comparable agreements in public markets; to calculate a range of acceptable arms-length interest rates & fee structures, for the financing arrangements. Identifying; synergies and assessing non-public company’s fair values for M&A transactions through DCF modelling and comparable transactions. Experience in Capital Markets (Investment Analyst): To formalize my theoretical Capital Markets experience, I took on the role of an Analyst in Queens University’s Alternative Asset Fund (QUAAF), Canada’s first student-directed portfolio of alternative strategies, managing funds endowed by private investors and corporate sponsors. I succeeded in the role by applying my economic and financial knowledge to lead numerous internal meetings. Identifying ideas on improving the Market Neutral Portfolio of C$400k AUM; using quantitative methods, consulting-style critical thinking and procedural reasoning frameworks to aid fund’s research with focuses on model building and hedge fund research strategies. Cross Over Experience: My most recent professional engagement was as the Associate Director of Finance and Operations at Speedy Automation, a private firm providing engineering and automation solutions to multinational clients such as Shell, P&G & Unilever. My role at Speedy was multifaceted it involved oversight of local operations and of a treasurer; managing financial risk; on consumer lending, maintaining the company’s operating leverage and exposure on two-legged currency transactions (EUR/USD; USD/AED).
