July 09th, 2022 Geolance Dear Recruiter, I am writing to express my interest in securing the investment analyst position at Geolance. I am currently a fourth-year student in the Rotman Commerce program at the University of Toronto. My area of focus and interest varies from strategy & risk management to management consulting. My interest in finance stems from enjoying the ability to think strategically and analytically which is why over the last two summers, I have dedicated my time to exposing myself to roles in different business functions where I can apply my aptitude to approach various projects strategically. As a result, I have developed a diverse skillset that allows me to approach situations while considering other aspects of the organization. Interning at TRIYO allowed me the opportunity to develop business strategies and sales for the growth and commercialization of an enterprise collaboration platform through interactions with clients and product development teams. Furthermore, I developed my interpersonal skills working with the Finance department in assisting in managing capital raising activities for the company by targeting venture capitals and seed investors. This allowed me to gain first-hand experience in maintaining client relationships and client acquisition. During my time at Rotman, I worked as a Strategy & Partnerships Associate in New York. Through this experience, I carried out an active watch on the elements of brand value, brand positioning, and most importantly, optimizing the growth of Brut in the North American Division. I placed emphasis on researching mission-driven organizations, BCORPs, and NGOs to target brand partnerships while simultaneously working on deck creation and pitch development. I gained solid research, analytical and problem-solving skills. My background in generating innovative ideas and strategies to improve processes has provided me with a deeper understanding of the multifaceted problems that companies encounter in their daily operations. Furthermore, these experiences have allowed me to fully understand how important it is to have great team dynamics in today’s multi-disciplinary business environment. Through this role, I hope to enhance my analytical aptitude and creative problem-solving skills to the best of my ability. I strongly believe that Geolance will encourage me to have a unique outlook where I view problems not only from the client’s standpoint but also from a marketplace point of view.
