Position Brief An SEO Specialist measures website against business goals and finds ways to improve page views through SEO. Increasing SEO means more revenue and the SEO Specialist’s duty is to be fully engaged with driving web page traffic and converting visitors to customers. As an SEO Specialist, you will need computer technical skills to make our client’s website more search engine friendly. You should understand the technical limitations of the various search engines and be able to communicate these with website developers to design our site. You must be collaborative in your approach, working in teams to extend the reach of our marketplace. You must be a great problem solver and enjoy an analytical challenge. You must be a lover of the digital world and curious about the latest trends in social media, software, and graphic design. Responsibilities for SEO Specialist • Develop optimization strategies that will increase our company's search engine results rankings • Research SEO keywords to use throughout the company's website and marketing materials • Work to understand local, regional, and industry-specific market nuances to help determine the best path forward for digital marketing initiatives • Researching advertising and website layout trends that will generate more page traffic • Set measurable goals that demonstrate improvement in our marketing efforts • Monitor daily performance metrics to understand SEO strategy performance • Always check search terms, rankings, and analytics to monitor the performance of websites and make recommendations for improvement • Using social media to distribute content and encourage external sites to link back to the site marketplace • Efficiently communicate with other marketing professionals to align goals • Develop and implement an organic search strategy to achieve inbound visitor and new customer acquisition goals • Engage in keyword research and planning across organic and paid search, and work with our service marketplace teams to increase our inbound traffic • Own the responsibility for all metrics and KPIs related to organic search performance, as well as analyzing and reporting these through the building of live dashboards, presentations and other means • Collaborate with others within the marketing department to manage SEO strategy • Update content and website links for maximum optimization and search engine rankings Qualifications for SEO Specialist Minimum of 3 years of experience in successfully developing and executing SEO campaigns Understanding of search engine algorithms and ranking methods Experience with SEO industry programs, such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics Knowledge of keyword research and data mining tools Familiarity with Google Analytics and other analytic tools Eager to learn analytics tools such as SEMRush, AHREFS, LinkResearch Tools, ScreamingFrog, Moz, and other tools for organic traffic measurement Ability to use quantitative and qualitative metrics to communicate progress and identify meaningful trends A passion for internet performance marketing Excellent written communication skills and ability to multitask Experience with other aspects of marketing, such as customer growth and promotion, is a plus Able to complete competitive analysis of other companies within the industry Excellent written and verbal communication skills (email, phone, etc.) Comfortable analyzing high volumes of data daily
