Apprentice Shipfitter responsibilities include:
- Selecting and preparing pipe systems for installation
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine the specifications of the job
- Measure, cut, thread or bend piping using hand and power tools
The ideal candidate will have experience with laying out, fabricating, assembling and installing structural metalwork, such as steel bulkheads, stanchions and framing. They will also be able to work independently and be detail-oriented. If you are looking for an opportunity to make a difference in a fast-growing company, this is your role!

Apprentice Shipfitter skills:
- Completion of a 4 year apprenticeship program OR 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Physical strength and stamina
- The ability to use tools and machines safely and correctly
- Manual dexterity
- Good hand-eye coordination
