Gas Welder responsibilities include:
- Measuring, cutting and shaping metal using hand tools and machines
- Joining metal pieces using welding techniques
- Inspecting completed welds to ensure they meet standards
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area
The ideal candidate will have experience with studying blueprints and sketches to determine the dimensions of the metal pieces. They will also be able to work independently and be detail-oriented. Gas Welder skills:
- Communication: You will need to be able to understand written and verbal instructions in order to carry out tasks accurately.
- Welding: You will need to have a strong understanding of welding techniques, safety procedures and equipment in order to produce high quality welds.
- Problem solving: You will need to be able to troubleshoot problems that arise during the welding process in order to find a solution quickly.
- Physical fitness: You will need to be physically fit as welding can be a physically demanding job.
- Attention to detail: You will need to be able to pay attention to detail in order to produce accurate welds.
