- Ensuring that all horses are ready to race before the starter allows the race to begin
- Operating the starting gate and ensuring that it is functioning properly
- Communicating with the drivers and informing them of the status of the race

Harness Racing Starter skills:
- Proven experience as a Harness Racing Starter or similar role
