Management Information Systems MIS Analyst responsibilities include:

  • Determining company requirements by analyzing business objectives and processes.
  • Designing and maintaining databases, making sure they operate securely and efficiently.
  • Identifying user needs by researching information requirements; analyzing procedures, problems and workflows; recommending control solutions.
  • Developing data models to suit company requirement
  • Implementing controls by following company guidelines and using best practices
  • Monitoring systems performance by collecting data; identifying trends and recommend improvements to the system
  • Updating job knowledge by keeping up with new development in the industry
  • Accomplishing departmental results by managing staff; planning, assigning and monitoring work progress; coaching employees; appraising job results
  • Maintaining MIS staff by recruiting, selecting and orienting employees.
  • MIS Analyst responsibilities also include training staff on new systems and features and troubleshooting technical issues

The ideal candidate will have experience with security systems and data analysis and proactively identify risks. They will also be able to work independently and be detail-oriented. If you are looking for an opportunity to make a difference in a fast-growing company, this is your role!

Management Information Systems MIS Analyst skills:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • 3-5 years experience as an MIS Analyst or similar role
  • Strong understanding of databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB), network security and data backup/recovery
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools and database design principles
  • Familiarity with BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for data visualization
  • Excellent communication
