Model Maker Machinist responsibilities include:
- Measuring and marking materials for machining
- Calculating dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers
- Reading blueprints or instructions to determine methods, sequences and angles of operations
- Cutting, shaping and trimming material using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring instruments
- Assembling fabricated metal parts using both hand tools and welding equipment according to specifications
- Inspecting completed workpieces for conformance to blueprint tolerances and customer requirements
The ideal candidate will have experience with operating lathes, milling machines and other equipment to fabricate parts. They will also be able to work independently and be detail-oriented. If you are looking for an opportunity to make a difference in a fast-growing company, this is your role!

Model Maker Machinist skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in machining preferred
- Proven experience as a Model Maker Machinist or similar role
- Experience with using and setting up lathes, milling machines and other equipment
- Thorough understanding of mathematical formulas and shop geometry
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to read drawings, schematics and blueprints
- Good physical condition and manual dexterity
- Willingness to work in shifts if necessary
